RESURRECTION, A UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Beau Stringer (he/him/his) serves as the Director of Adult Discipleship at Resurrection Downtown, a location of the largest United Methodist congregation in the country. He guides adults in deepening their faith and building authentic community through classes, small groups, and transformative spiritual formation experiences. Beyond his church work, Beau is a writer and the creator of Becoming Mainline, a Substack publication exploring the intersection of faith, culture, and a more thoughtful expression of Christianity. With over 15 years of pastoral and church leadership experience, Beau is passionate about helping people reconstruct a faith that is both deeply rooted in tradition and radically inclusive in practice.
BREAKOUT LEADER
THE CROSS AND THE FLAG: WHY YOU CAN'T CARRY BOTH
What happens when a church weeps more over the national anthem than the resurrection? In this deeply personal talk, Beau shares his journey from the front row of a Southern Baptist church to a faith stripped of its idols. He explores how American evangelicalism traded prophetic witness for political power.
This isn't a story of losing faith, it's about finding it again by asking the uncomfortable questions no one wanted to hear. A raw, honest examination of what happens when patriotism becomes worship, and an invitation to reclaim a faith that actually looks like Jesus.
